Accounting Associate Degree

Accounting Associate Degree
Where is an associate degree in accounting going to get me?

I am going for my associate degree in accounting, but is scared when I do finished and can’t find a job. I know someone who got theie associate degree in accounting, and CANNOT find a job. Plese tell me what you think/know/heard. Is an associate degree in accounting going to get me far? I was thinking about changing my major to medical assistant, but am CLUELESS what to do now!! Help anyone?!!?

If you do well, it would probably help you get into a four-year college for a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. With the job market the way it is, I would think it would be hard to find much of anything in that field without more education, and maybe even a CPA.

The medical field is supposed to be one area that will be growing in the next several years. Don’t know how training as a medical assistant would fit into that.

Which one would you enjoy more?

You can go to the Labor Department website and see what the outlook is for different fields, although that’s only going to be general information. You could talk with someone in an accounting firm to get an idea of whether a two-year degree would make you employable. A hospital’s human resources department would be able to tell you what they require for medical assistants, or a doctor’s office could tell you what they look for.

Good luck to you.
