Accounting Transactions

Accounting Transactions
Who is responsiblee for fraudulent transactions on a bank account please. Account is with HSBC?

The account in question is a current account and transactions occurred during December 2008 to the value of £6000. The account is always in credit by a couple of thousand pounds. Notification was received from HSBC flagging the account as overdrawn. When approached, HSBC declined responsibility.

Have you disputed these transactions with HSBC? You need to do this, and escalate the matter as far as you can. If you still don’t get any satisfaction from HSBC, you need a letter from them declining responsibility, and this letter needs to state that it is their “final response”. You can then take the matter to the Financial Services Authority and make a complaint.

For Accounting Degree
does it matter where you get an accounting degree?

I feel like accounting is pretty concrete and has little variation from school to school. With the exception of connections does it matter if you get an accounting degree from a big known university or a little relatively unknown college?

If you want to work for a big 4, or a large local firm then you need to ensure you go to one of the better schools out there. These places only recruit entry level workers from there. Job placement services is top priority for the better schools. Lesser schools just tell you goodbye and good luck when you graduate.

Accounting Costs
How do I get into Cost Accounting?

I need any info. on how to get into Cost Accounting.
Websites, helpful people, periodicals, books, ANYTHING helpful.

What certifications are good, what type of education should I have.

ANY INFORMATION at all that is specifically related to getting into Cost Accounting. I am NOT interested in general accounting information. I need information specifically for COST ACCOUNTING.
Here is some clarification:

I want TO WORK as a cost accountant. I have an associates degree in accounting, and I was looking into getting a bachelor’s degree. However, all of the B.S. accounting programs that I have looked into in my state have course listings for several aspects of accounting with only a maximum of 2 cost accounting courses. My opinion is that $20,000 for a hodge-podge of an education is not worth it.

I need some tips or guidance on what I can do to get a job as a cost accountant. Or let me know where I could find information on working as a cost accountant.

I’m not exactly sure what do you mean by how do I get into Cost Accounting. If you have problem understanding them, you can post your question and helpful people will try to answer. I’m one of those BUT when it comes to homework, I want you to try first, ie provide me with your answer & I will confirm/ correct them.

Lease Accounting
Can a residential lease judgement also turn into a levy on a bank account in Texas?

My husband didn’t want to be married anymore and wanted my out of the house. I left. Now he is leaving and the residential lease will be broken.

Yes, but …

Usually a broken lease judgment does not amount that much money and since an asset levy requires another law suit (not in small claims) requiring a lawyer most landlords (plaintiffs) don’t want to hurt their bottom line by shelling out the extra cash. Instead, by doing nothing the landlord is set to receive more money down the road because often a judgment includes a high interest rate tacked on to it for every year it goes unpaid. The judgment will remain on your credit until it is paid off and will continue to harm both of your credits.

It is in your best interest to make nice with your soon to be ex and then, together, make nice with your former landlord to see what can be worked out before it goes to court. Good Luck.

Although there is some bias against online Bachelor’s Degrees, it’s very desirable to get an accredited graduate degree online. Some well-respected, major universities offer accredited graduate degrees online, and an online degree from these colleges is equivalent to a traditional degree.

So, the short answer is, yes it is fully possible to get an accredited graduate degree online

You’ve made the decision to get a accredited degree, and looked at your options and decided an online degree is the best one for you. Now what? There are literally hundreds of places to obtain an accredited graduate degree online. How do you make your choice?

The first thing is to get rid of the hoaxes. High level education is already about as compressed as it can get, so not many places will give you credit for life experience. Any college school that gives you an advanced degree for little or no coursework is a hoax.

Next, look at the expense. It is harder to finance graduate or higher education than undergraduate education. It’s also harder for adults who have been out of school for a while to get a scholarship. There are, however, ways to finance your accredited degree. Fill out a FAFSA through the Department of Education to see if you qualify for any grants or loans. Check out if your employer has a tuition assistance plan. Search out each and every scholarship opportunity you can find. Even beg if you have to. Then compare the costs of the various schools you want to attend.

Last but not least, look at the school itself. What kind of reputation does this institution have? Does it have accreditation? What have graduates of their master’s and doctoral programs done with their degree? What is the school’s mission, and does it fit with your personal values and views? Are all the courses on the internet, or do you have to go to campus for some of them?

Getting an accredited graduate degree online is the remarkable option for people in fields where it takes a graduate degree to advance professionally.

Good educational qualifications can come pretty handy when it comes to getting hired or getting ahead in any career. These days, if you are seeking to spruce up your resume and your work skills, you can choose between attending a regular college or going for an online college degree.

Online college programs, like regular courses, have their share of pros and cons. It is a good idea to consider both sides before making up your mind.

The Pros of Online Degree Programs:

1. One of the best things about going for online college degrees is the amount of flexibility possible. You don’t have to interrupt your regular schedule to join an online college program. You can study at your own pace and convenience. And you don’t even have to expend time and money in commuting to and from college.

2. Most of the coursework material required for online courses is supplied over the Internet in the form of ebooks and etexts. Many online institutions also offer students the facility of accessing their online libraries for extra research. So there is no need for you to buy expensive curriculum books.

3. A regular college degree usually takes four years to complete. Online college degrees, on the other hand, can be finished within a year or two if you so want. Alongside, you can also take extra and specialized courses of only a few weeks duration. You can select from a wide variety of online degree programs.

4. By taking an online course, you will be sprucing up your work skills and acquainting yourself with the latest technological and business developments that directly concern your work field. As an online college degree course requires the ability to manage time well and stay motivated, you will also develop good managerial and organizational skills. These will help you a great deal eventually in the work field.

5. Online college degrees from properly accredited institutions are considered to be on the same level as degrees from regular schools. In fact, many regular colleges now also offer online courses. Online college degrees are accepted by most employers. You can also get financial aid for your online course. Keep in mind though that financial aid is only given to students pursuing a degree course. You cannot avail of it if you’re just going for a certificate or non-degree program.

6. Students taking online college degrees come from different walks of life and from different parts of the world, and so there is bound to be a fair exchange of cultural and social information. Knowing how to interact and get along well with different types of people will give you a definite edge in your career.

The Cons of Online Degree Programs:

1. Online college degrees from non-accredited institutions have little value in the work industry, so you need to make sure everything is legally accredited and above-board before you sign on for any program. It is a good idea to research the Insitute on the Internet and talk to former students of their experience with the course.

2. Online college degrees do not offer face-to-face interactions with peers and teachers. All interaction is done online in the form of emails, chats, group discussions, etc. The lack of normal social relations can be tough on some people. You could also find yourself spending more time with people online than offline.

3. It is true that you can work in the comfort of your own home, but you need to consider if your home environment is right for independent study. Will you be able to make the time and find the space to study? Do you have the support and backing of your family? Will chores and other personal obligations get in the way of your work?

4. Online college programs require independent study and comprehension skills. The Professors will be available at certain specified times to offer instruction and advise, but you will have to do the major portion of the work on your own. This requires a fair amount of self-motivation and self-discipline. Without putting in enough work and effort, you are not going to succeed anymore with an online college degree than you would with a regular one.

Online College Degrees on the rise

The advances in computer technology and the Internet revolution have brought about some very advantageous changes to the educational field. Learning is no longer confined to the traditional classroom and continuing with your education can now be a life-long option.

Education is the key for Career Growth:

With the coming of globalization, job opportunities are growing. The whole world can be your oyster, but being well-qualified is the key factor in advancing in your career. People with a college degree have better work prospects and stand to earn significantly more than people with only a High School education. So, if you don’t have a degree, it makes plenty sense to go back to college and get it. One of the best investments you can make is to avail yourself of an excellent college education. Check out the various courses that you can take online to advance your career prospects.

The Popularity of Online Education:

It is not possible for everyone to go back to college full-time, and, with the growing number of online college programs that are now becoming available, this is not necessary either. You can earn a degree from an online college without having to relocate and without interrupting your regular schedule. You can study at your own pace and according to your own convenience. Due to this flexibility, an increasing number of people these days are going for an online education. According to a survey report by the Sloan Consortium, there were nearly 3.2 million students taking atleast one online course in 2005, which is more than 800,000 more than the 2.5 million students reported in 2004. The numbers are likely to grow even higher in the present year.

The Sloan Consortium reports that more than 96 percent of the very largest institutions have online programs. Many of the major traditional educational institutions, including Ivy League schools like Harvard, now offer online college degrees. The Harvard Extension School offers 100 online courses in Computer Science, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Management. The Keller Graduate School of Management has degree and certificate programs in Business Administration, Accounting and Financial Management, Financial Analysis, Entrepreneurship and many more topics.

In some traditional schools, you can choose to complete your course by taking both online and offline learning methods. For example, you can complete portion of your course by regular attendance and part of it by taking online classes. At the end of the course, you receive the same degree awarded to students attending full-time classes.

You can also begin a course with an online institute and then later transfer to a traditional college. Just make sure that the online institute has proper accreditation from a legal regional association. Degrees from non-accredited institutes will be of little use to you in finding employment after graduation; they have no value in the work field and are not accepted by employers.

Online Education and Work Prospects:

Many well-accredited, online Universities, like Capella for example, only have a Virtual campus. They have extremely high academic standards and, in a good many instances, online students have been found to have a higher standard of work as compared to the work of students attending regular classes in traditional colleges. Since online students have to juggle personal and work responsibilities while taking the course, they usually have good organizational and managerial skills and are high on motivation. These are the exact qualities that prospective employers go for.

Students are also exposed to varied social and cultural interactions as people from different walks of life and from around the globe participate in online college degree programs. This experience of knowing how to interact with different people is invaluable when it comes to doing business abroad.

Recognizing the benefits and convenience of online training, many corporate employers now encourage their workers to go for online college degrees and offer reimbursement for the tuition. The Research Information and Statistics section of the United States Distance Learning Association states that, "Many major corporations save millions of dollars each year using distance learning to train employees more effectively and more efficiently than with conventional methods".

Online Accounting Degree Program

5 reasons for considering an Online Accounting Degree Program.

Online Accounting Degree Program
Having a graduate degree gives you significant greater career opportunities than you would have with just a High School Diploma. People with a Bachelor’s Degree or a Master’s Degree generally receive higher salaries and are able to derive more job satisfaction. Still, it’s no matter if you have missed out on college, it is never too late. Education is a lifelong business and you can always go back. If you are a busy professional and cannot spare the time to enroll in a regular University and attend classes full-time, you should consider taking online classes. Most of the major Universities nowadays have online courses and online degrees are acceptable by most employers. More and more people currently are going for an online education.

With the growing popularity of online education, you can now take classes in accounting over the Internet. Here are 5 reasons why you should consider going for an online accounting degree program.

1. Demand for Accountants and Good Job Prospects:

If you’re excellent with numbers, are willing to put in long hours, and can work well under pressure, then Accounting is the career for you.

There is a rising demand for qualified and competent Accountants in the corporate world. As businesses expand around the globe, more and more Accountants, well-trained in the latest technological and business skills, are needed to render specialized services in the areas of Cost Accounting, Auditing, and Taxation. They are also required to provide advise and information on the various aspects of financial and commercial laws. Given the financially crucial nature of their work, they receive correspondingly high salaries.

Data compiled by the National Association of Colleges and Employers gives the following average salary estimates – $44560 for new-fledged Accountants and $85000 for experienced Accountants.

2. A Good Educational Qualification is a must for a career in Accounting:

Having a good educational base, particularly a graduate degree, is of the utmost importance in the Accounting field. Most employers will not hire you if you do not have the proper qualifications. So it is imperative that you have a Bachelor’s Degree or a Master’s Degree, if not a PhD, in Accounting. Just make sure that you get your Accounting Degree from a college or university that has proper accreditation from a legal regional association. Non-accredited Degrees have little or no value in the business world.

You will need to complete an accounting degree program that includes courses in Auditing, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Litigation, and Corporate and Individual Taxation. Degree Certificates in these courses can also be obtained through reputable online degree programs; these are acceptable in the job market.

Through an online accounting degree program, you can train to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). While the USA has Certified Public Accountants, many other countries have the equivalent in Chartered Accountants. The work responsibilities are practically the same.

3. Study at your own pace:

A regular University course in Accounting requires four years to complete. An online accounting degree program offers you the flexibility to study at your own pace. You can take your time or accelerate through the coursework and finish in an year or two. You can also take extra, specialized and short-term courses that can be completed in a matter of weeks.

4. Extra Training will spice up your job:

You can study for online degree programs while continuing with your regular schedule. There are always new developments happening in the world of Finance and taking the latest courses will help you keep on par with the current information and technology. The accounting degree program you choose will undoubtedly boost your work profile and thereby advance your career prospects.

5. Various courses are available through online degree programs:

Many reputed colleges and universities now have online courses and provide students with all the required support and help. You can select from a wide variety of online programs in Accounting.

Position Yourself To Benefit From The Barack Obama Jobs Plan

Posted by admin

The money will soon be in the pipeline.  Huge amounts, to the tune of around $825 Billion dollars ($550 Billion in new spending and $275 Billion in tax cuts).  This time, however,  the money will not go to bankers and wall street firms, but to businesses as well as state and local governments all around the country.  It is hoped not just by the Obama administration that this will halt the slide in the downward spiraling economy, but by just about every American as well.  This massive amount of stimulus will hopefully not only halt the increasing number of unemployed, but will turn the tide and start building the ranks of those with jobs and new careers that will help to position our country for the challenges that we will continue to face as this new century matures.  For those that are ready for a change in their career in the next year or two, understanding where the money is going to flow during that time and for years to follow could allow themselves to ride that wave of money into a rewarding and potentially lucrative career.

This "American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan" is continueing to change as this article is written, as is anything subject to political negotiations, but the basic outline of where the majority of these funds will be directed is pretty well known at this point.   The money will basically be spent with 90 % of it going to the private sector, while the other 10% will be directed towards the public sector.  The money is alloted in general to four broad catagories… infrastructure, energy, education, and health.

Some of the funds will have an immediate effect, and some of the spending will not be in full swing until 2010 and 2011.  In researching what type of career you may be interested in, understanding when the flow of money will hit into the areas of your interst is important to make a wise career choice.  Getting the appropriate education and training for many of these positions will need to be meshed with the timeline of those money flows in order to best benefit.

For more in depth analysis of these money flows and how to position yourself and benefit can be found at BarackObamaJobs.net.
