What careers can i get into with an accountancy degree?

I’m at the age that i should be thinking about uni but don’t know what to do as a degree. My family says that i should do Accountancy as I’m good with numbers but i have heard that being an accountant is quite hard. So i was wandering what else i could do the degree.

Most people who graduate in Accountancy tend to look for a career with the “Big 4″:

PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte, KPMG, and Ernst & Young.

They are all supposedly great employers, well paying and good bonuses and benefits.

This is a high level answer. The Equity Method is used to account for investmements made in another company or joint venture. Typically you use the method when you own 20-50% of the company and assert influence but not control which would require Consolidation.

From a journal entries perspective, you record the investment at cost. Each year you make adjustments based on the proportianate net income (increase in the cost basis) and dividends received (decrease in cost basis).

What accounting software do you use for your small business?

I currently use Microsoft Access for my small business accounting, which has worked well because of my size and budget. However, Access is not very user-friendly! I’ve heard good things of Quickbooks, but would like to keep my options open. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would definitely recommend Quickbooks. It’s the industry standard for small businesses.

You don’t have to go to "college" to get an accredited online bachelor degree. There are legitimate educational opportunities you can enroll in that will give you the same credentials as the best frat boys and girls.

How do you correctly include someone’s account in a thesis paper?

What kind of punctuation are you supposed to use?
I just took an interview that I would like to include in my thesis paper.
Do I indent, quotation marks? I am summing a lot of it up, because of the way I took my notes, most of it is not direct quotes.

It could depend on what format: ALA, MLA, etc. Generally, if it’s a short quote, just use quotation marks. If it’s rather long, indent it on both sides and single-space it. (Can’t remember is you also need quotation marks; probably yes.) This is only for direct, word-for-word quotations.
If it is NOT a direct quotation, paraphrase it within your text, without quotation marks, and then be sure to put an internal, aka parenthetical, citation. Then put the full citgation info in your list of works cited.
To sum up: only use quotation marks around a direct quote.
